Aston Martin V8 Sportsman Shooting Brake up for sale

So, it seems that there were actually two people who wanted Aston’s take on a V8 station wagon. Mind you, a shooting brake isn’t actually an estate, nor a station wagon, but a cross breed between a coupe and an SW. Its sports-car flamboyant grace has made this body style a favorite among European aristocracy and was originally used for fox hunting and whatnot – hence the name.

Truth be told, Aston Martin is no stranger to this type of body style. There were seven DB6s Shooting Brake made by coachbuilder Harold Radford and three Virages converted at the factory in the early ‘90s – which kind of look exactly like this V8 example.

Anyway, the car is chassis number #79008 and it has a 5.3-litre, naturally aspirated V8, which develops around 350 horses. It wasn’t built straight from the factory in this form, but it was later converted along with chassis number #79007.

The car is being auctioned by Bonhams and if you want a piece of bespoke exclusivity, it will cost you somewhere between €400,000 and €500,000 ($454,220 - $567,775)
