About servicing V8 engine's:

servicing is every 16.000km/10.000 mile/12 months, which ever occurs first.This alternates minor, then major, but as the car grows older (or higher mileage) additional items need checking/replacement at greater cost!See service hours and additional items below.

1.500 km/1.000 mile/3 month (Free) [up until the 09MY when this was no longer carried out]

A free inspection & oil change service, included fine adjustment to compensate for initial 'bedding-in'.

16.000km/10.000 mil /12 months - whichever occurs first.

32.000km/20.000 mil /24 months - whichever occurs first.

48.000km/30.000 mile/36 months - whichever occurs first. (continues 48/60/72 months etc.)

Every 2 years Renew clutch and brake fluid & 2 years/32.000 km (20.000 mile) Renew wiper blades

(Every 32.000 km/20.000 mile/2 years Renew air cleaner elements in extreme environments)

Every 32.000 km/20.000 mile/3 years - Top-up transaxle oil levels. Renew air cleaner elements

Every 64.000 km/40.000 mile/4 Years Clean throttle butterfly - Renew transaxle oil and clean filter

Every 160.000 km/100.000 mile/5 Years Renew engine coolant - check concentration

Every 240.000 km/150.000 mile/15 Years Replace the accessory drive belt

expensive to service than the Vantage: for example the clutch and brake fluid is replaced every year

(rather than bi-annually on the V8) and man hour service times are longer (see below).

  • Filters and leaks check
  • Check transaxle for leaks
  • Check sportshift/system oil level
  • Check sportshift/systém oil leak
  • Check sportshift pump vent for blockages
  • Check/top-up engine coolant
  • Check for fuel leaks
  • Check/top-up breake/clutch fluid reservoir
  • Check power steering systém for leaks
  • Check break hoses piper and unions for leaks
  • Chech suspension dampers for leak
  • Top-up windscreen/headlamps washer reservoir
  • Chech exhaust systém for leaks
  • Check A/C systém for leaks
  • Check/Top up power steering fluid

4.Mechanical function checks:

  • Lubricate the bonnet secondary catch
  • Check security of the bonnet catch.Check that the bonnet secondary catch moves freely over its whole
  • travel and returns smartly under spring pressure
  • Lubricate the upper position of the door seals
  • Check/adjust accessory drive belt tension, renew if necessary
  • Adjust handbreak cables, if required
  • Inspect service brake pads and warning leads for wear replace if 60% worn
  • Check wiper blade inserts, renew if necessary
  • Inspect/Clean out coolant radiator and A/C condenser
  • Check security of exhaust systém mounting and heat shields.Check by-pass valve operation
  • Check brake hoses, pipes and unions
  • Check cooling systém hoses security and condition
  • Check A/C hoses security and condition
  • Check security and condition of suspension fixings
  • Check security and condition of suspension ball joints

5.Electrical function checks:

  • Check/record battery voltage and quiescent drain
  • Clean and grease battery connections if required
  • Check the battery disconnect/connect switches
  • Check operation of all lamps
  • Check operation of all warning indicators
  • Check audible warning including security systém
  • Check operation of the horns
  • Check operation of the windscreen/headlamp washers/jets
  • Check operation of the windscreen wiper
  • Check rear view mirrors for security and function
  • Check/operate powerfold mirrors
  • Check/operate electric windows
  • Interrogate DTC P codes and rectify if required
  • Check service interval indicator.Reset

6.Wheels and Tyre checks:

  • Check for correct tyre size, type and orientation
  • Check and report tyre tread depth
  • Check tyres for uneven/excessive wear or damage
  • Check/adjust tyre pressures
  • Check torque of road wheel nuts
  • Check road wheel rims for inner and outer damage
  • Check colour coded valve collars for correct location

(Tyre pressure monitoring) (Not Japanese Market)

  • Check 'use by' date of tyre repair kit.Replace if expiry-date is within 12 months

7.Anti corrosion check:

  • Check body panels and underbody for corrosion starting-from the inside-out

(excluding stone chips)

8.Final checks:

  • Degrease windscreen
  • Check clutch functionality
  • Check operation/condition of all seat belts and buckles
  • Check that fuel filter bowl rain drain is clear
  • Carry out road test
